China's Shanghai Composite was down 0.11 percent or 2.48 points at 2,238.33.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 0.23 percent or 89.35 points at 25,022.88.

Japan's Nikkei rose 0.13 percent or 20.58 points at 15,559.77.

Singapore's Straits Times added 0.23 percent or 7.61 points at 3,333.11. South Korea's Seoul Composite was flat at 2,055.20.

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted was up 0.10 percent or 9.37 points at 9,389.47.

BSE Up at 25,723.16, NSE up at 7,683.65

The S&P BSE Sensex surged over 250 points in trade on Monday, led by gains in Infosys, ITC, ICICI Bank, L&T and Tata Motors.

Tracking the momentum, the 50-share Nifty index traded over 7650 levels, supported by gains in capital goods, consumer durable, IT, FMCG and realty stocks.

The BSE Sensex closed at 25,723.16; up 242.30 points. It hit a high of 25,754.42 and low of 25,531.38 in trade today.

The Nifty ended was at 7,683.65; up 81.05 points. It hit a high of 7,694.80 and low of 7,622.05 in trade today.
